Bukreyev Peak
One-day Hike

Rising at the northern edge of the Maloalmatinsky ridge, Bukreev Peak (3,010 m) stands above the Butakovka Gorge, marking the final summit of this mountain chain.

Geo-tech Overview

Its slopes descend into the Kotyrbulak, Butakovka, and Left Talgar gorges, offering views that perfectly capture the essence of the Northern Tien Shan.Formerly known as Pionerskiy Peak, it was renamed in 2007 to honor Anatoly Bukreev — one of Kazakhstan’s and the world’s greatest mountaineers. His achievements remain legendary: 11 of the 14 eight-thousanders climbed without supplemental oxygen. This one-day hike is an ideal adventure for those who wish to experience wild alpine nature close to Almaty, with rewarding views and a real mountain spirit.
